regarding rants

I know it would be dishonest to say that there's never been something in the TDPRI that made me want to engage in a long rant, so I have always wondered.
Are rants generally frowned upon here?
I just noticed that the "golden rule" at the top of the page says "no hate". does that include ranting?

Rants are frowned upon. They really serve no purpose here and generally cause flames and ill feelings. Anything that causes the community to erupt in fighting is frowned upon -- so that list is long.

"Rants" are deleted when they cause fights and if the original poster violates our rules in posting a rant it can lead to their removal from the site.
