Can you all think of any reason why I couldn't use a standard tele wiring set up for a dimarzio strat single coil with a Duncan p-90 in the bridge. It's the 2 pups only.
Also, ant tricks for mounting the p 90 in the swimming pool of a strat?

... of course, I'd be tempted to use a switch with more combos/options.
A thought on the P90 mounting - how's about, you cut the pickguard first, put it on the axe, drop in the P90 where it fits the cutout and use a couple of long, skinny WOOD-threaded screws to mount it right to the body (I BELIEVE that's how my '90 LP Special's P90s are mounted). Then you can back the screws out and "spring load" the pups for height adjustment, or "sponge/foam" 'em, or whatever.
I think I also have a plate in my parts bin like those that Gibson used to use - it screws to the body, in the bottom of the pup rout cavity, and then you use long, skinny machine-threaded screws, like the screws you would mount a humbucker with - it's yours for the asking, if I can dig it up.

The plate in my parts drawer turns out to be the one for mounting a LP-Deluxe-style Mini-Humbucker with the goofy plastic sleeve (in a P90-sized hole).
I'm thinking now that there ain't (and never wuz) no P90 mounting plate, and that they're all probably mounted as they are on my LP Special, with long skinny woodscrews...
Sorry for the misinformation.
Geez, that's a couple now - maybe I better lay low for a while!
