Trying to figure out if I need to get a footswitch for my Blues Junior, or if I can use something I already have -- maybe with an adapter.

The Blues Junior is supposed to take a ONE-button switch. I mostly have TWO-button switches, from my Blues Deluxe and Hot Rod Deville, and also from Peavey amps.

Does anyone know how to make this work? I sure don't want to blow something up...

I also wouldn't mind making a footswitch, but I'm not sure how to wire it.

Any advice appreciated!

A two button switch will work fine, you cannot blow anything up with a footswith, just dont put it into the extension speaker jack!
You can easy make up your own with a simple on/off stomp switch, box and cable etc etc

I made a footswitch for my VibroChamp. It's a box, an on-off switch, a 1/4" jack, and about 10 minutes of time. Cost is about $5 from RadioShack. The VibroChamp needed an RCA, so I just used an audio interconnect for the cable, so I used the RCA for the switch output. If you want to hard-wire the cable to the footswitch, you can skip the 1/4" jack and save a buck. Personally, I prefer to be able to plug a guitar cable into the footswitch so I can swap out for the length needed from amp to mic stand for every gig.

One tip--the project boxes are pretty light, so I stuck a heavy surf-fishing pyramid weight in the bottom of my box with some Blu-Tac so to weigh that sucker down so that it would stay in place. I also stuck on some rubber feet for the same reason.

Thanks, guys!

If I make my own, is the wiring like this?

ON -- tip connected to sleeve
OFF -- tip NOT connected to sleeve

Or vice versa?

I was trying to figure that out, by putting a continuity meter on a 2-button switch, but it didn't seem right...

That's a good question. I wired one lug of the jack to one lug on the switch, and the other lug of the jack to the other lug on the switch. Plugged in cable, pushed button, switch worked. That's as far as I thought about it.
