champion 600 thru a small pa

hi guys,
is it a good plan to mike a little fender 600 amp and send it trough a pretty small yamaha stagepas 300 pa-system? i am still looking for a super-small soundystem for longer trips in a campingbus. room and weight and reliability are of great concern. i tried a cube 60 today and the sound is not really what i like. eddie

I prefer to mic small speakers to big speakers, because it can get really boomy through the PA. I would think micing that little Champ600 would have great results.

i've been micing my Epi VJ in certain rooms lately. works just fine!

I used to mic my Silvertone 1481 foe gigs. It sounded HUGE ! The only problem is if you don't have a good monitor mix you won't have any stage volume.
