Who have you seen with a fender pro junior or blues junior?

I was thinking about the other Blues Junior thread on the board, and while there are always lots of people who like to put these amps down (and I agree there are better sounding amps out there), I seem to see them on stage with a lot of people - including some really good bands.

So, without discussing whether we think these are great amps or not (or even whether we love the tone of the players), I'm curious to know what good players have you seen on stage using these amps?

To start, I've heard that some of these guys have had blues juniors in their rigs lately:

Noel Gallagher - Oasis - Blues Junior
The Edge - U2 - Blues Junior (mind you he also has 2 AC30s and some tweed fenders in his current rig)
Ron Sexsmith
Daniel Carson - Chris Tomlin Band (he's been raving about his new pro junior and figures it will be showing up on stage with him soon)

I've seen lots of others, but those are coming up off the top of my head...

Started work again on the new album today. Recording at No Recording Studios in Rayleigh, Essex.

Began the session using new signature Strat that Todd made for me in the custom shop at Fenders - and it's a beauty!

Playing through the OCD by Mike Fuller into two Blues Junior amps (Fender). Got some excellent stuff on "If you'll take me in again" and "Freefall". Can't wait to get Davey's vocal on them. Dave B great help in studio.

I just read the new Tom Wheeler Book " Soul of Tone - 60 years of Fender Amps ".

In the section where they discuss the Blues Jr. ( page 425 ) - they quote that the Blues Jr. is a favorite of J.J. Cale. ( one of my favorite artists ) .

For what it's worth - I have a Blues Jr. ( couple months old ) . I like it.
I can't say it's 'better' or 'worse' than comparables... and I gather that EL84's are not the classic Fender Tube tone.... ( gee: I guess I'll have to get MORE amps... 8-)

but re: the integrity of the amp: I paid $40 bucks at time of purchase to extend the mfr. warranty from FIVE -- to a SEVEN year warranty, full freight paid both ways if necessary, and amp will be replaced if need be - no cost to me.

so, yeah that means I won't be modding it ( at least irreversable mods )
but seven years is a nice long time if any issues....

Lucinda Williams uses a Pro-Junior live with her Esquire.

Not too long ago JJ Cale was using a Blues Junior.

I'm reasonably certain I've seen photos of Brian Setzer with one of them on top of his pile of amps--seemed extra funny the way the black tolex stood out against all the other tweed/tan stuff.

I started using one for gigging, love the tone, sounds plenty "Fenderfull" to me. Use a Bad Monkey O.D. pedal in front for some dirt/crunch. Mines a 2000 USA model.

I just saw Mad Tea Party and the (awesome) guitarists was using a Blues Junior. BTW, they were outrageously entertaining. Check them out: http://www.themadteaparty.com/index2.html

I also saw Megan Palmer a while back and she played electric violin though a Pro Jr. Check her out too: http://meganpalmer.com/

I read that Jay Farrar (Son Volt) used one in the studio on their last album....I don't have one, but I've been jonesing for a lacquered tweed one forever....I wish they made a Pro Jr in lacquered tweed as well....

They used to make them in tweed. I bought one off someone in Japan in 1997, and it was tweed. I don't think it had ever been used: it was in perfect condition and had the "Made in America" tag still hanging off it.

The thing was beautiful and sounded so sweet and tweed-y it wasn't funny. Just a great little sucker.

I ended up giving it to my then-girlfriend's father, so I imagine it's being used in a 50s cover band somewhere in Sendai.

If I knew the tweed ones were so rare I'd never have given it up. Hopefully the karma'll be coming back around someday!

Elvis Costello. While opening for Bob Dylan this year, from what I could see and hear, he was using two amps an old tweed, t.v. faced, and a Blues Jr. at the same time. One sounded acoustic while the other one sounded distorted. They sounded great together.

Not sure about Blues Jrs, but I've seen the Black Keys use one on YouTube. I also read in Guitar Player, that Warren Haynes used a Pro Jr quite a bit on "High & Mighty".
