Vintage Strat knobs ,Where to get?

Anyone know a good source for vintage knobs? I need just one tone knob in the abs plastic with the small black lettering font.Got one in your drawer collecting dust?

Hi Mark,
thanks for the reply. I feel that you will probably know the answer to this. The knobs (2) that I have(see photo), have a small black font to them.The ones you pictured look like the larger gold font (like the ones on the left in photo) that is on most of the vintage repros. I tried to research it and saw a pic on one sight that called it abs plastic from the early 60's . Are you familair with the small black font? Is it some strange one off that isn't real Fender?

I see what you mean now.

You might have to end up getting a real 60's knob the repros dont look the same.

I'll look around and see what I can find.

that is it, Thanks GTO for illustrating that.Now where to find one. The original shattered several years ago, with too many yanks on and off the guard. I should have kept it and tried to glue it together, oh well.

If you're patient..... there should be vintage knobs available, you may not like the pricing though.

yes, the ABS version is usually around $50 a piece but there can be a lot of variance. The polystrene (known as Bakelite but it's not) go for $150 - $200 a piece. It's based on scarcity, i.e. supply and demand. For someone rehabing a $30k guitar, these are pocket change in cost. If this isn't what you want, then you'll have to go with what is currently available. What is this Tone knob going on?

Thanks 64, it is going on my frakenstein so no vintage value. I am not even sure the two that are already on there are real or repros, but I don't want to pull them to find out based upon how the last one broke up....probably will go with 1 of the two from the links above depending on responses and call it a day........

I'm not sure what point you are making, Ron. Surely you are making some note that this cannot possibly be what the seller is claiming..at least as far date, originality.

Ooooops.... I pasted the wrong copy.. but that Strat is Non sequitur with the Fender time line.

1956 on the knobs. Some "bakelite" (actually polystyrene) pickup covers made it through into 1957.
