Need some help w/ powering my board

Hello all, I could use some help here. I`ve posted on some of the different forums here ( found alot of great information ) about putting together my all Vox Pedal Board. It`s just a project idea I came up a while back after picking up a couple Vox effects... a Wah and a Distortion Pedal and thought I`d run w/ it.

My problem is , being VERY new to effects in general, is a power supply. I had planned to just use all the effects w/ just the 9 Volt batteries. ( this is all for my own enjoyment at home , not to gig with ) But now I`ve picked a up a couple that don`t have the batteries , just power outputs.

Should I use all the effects I have now...Wah, Volume Pedal, 830 Distortion, 810 Tone Tone, `80s Chorus and Tone Bender w/ Germanium Charged Fuzz thru a power unit such as a Pedal Power ( original or 2 ) ? Or can some be used w/ the battery and some thru a power unit .... I told you I was new to this .

I see a guy has an orig PedalPower unit for about $85 used on E bay and the new 2s go for about $169. PLease remember this all for at home use.

I realize this was all pretty long winded but I`d really appreciate any help w/ all this you folks can dish out.

Thanks, Mike.

If you're getting a power supply, you might as well use it for all the pedals.

PedalPower is a good unit.
But if it's only for home use, go for a One-Spot or similar kind of thing. It's much cheaper and does the job...

+1 for the One-Spot. When I bought mine, the 'combo' pack, it came with a daisy chain that allows 5 pedals to be plugged in. Apparently they just put out a new pack, with an 8 pedal daisy chain. I'd say that could work pretty well. Runs about $35 i think

Go for the OneSpot... it'll quickly pay for itself in battery costs.

That one-spot looks great.

I couldn't see if they make a UK compatible version - anyone know?

I use a pedal power II for my regular board, but I built one for a friend and got him to put a boss tuner on his board (my evil plan to encourage tuning) the boss tuner is very good and for another 12 bucks you can get a little cable that would power all of your effects. One roland wall wart to power the tuner and then the tuner would power all your vox effects... clean, simple, one plug...

The battery thing is a hassle on boards because you need to unplug the pedals in most cases to keep the batteries from going dead.. and you have to change batteries which eventually all the plugging and unplugging will result in failure...

if you end up with a 'noisy' pedal using ac... then I'd go with the pedal power... you have more flexibility in how the pedal is grounded and you can reduce the noise.

or not... if you want it all vox and only vox... I have been no help. sorry!

Godlyke PA-9. I have one powering 10 pedals through a 22 foot PedalSnake for my board without any issues.

I ended up going w/ a Dunlop DC Brick. Seems to be working ok.

I couldn't see if they make a UK compatible version - anyone know?"Will even convert international voltage (100V-240V) automatically; no transformer needed!"
