As an experiment for fun, I'd like to try splitting my guitar signal and sending it to 3 stomp boxes. I'll take the output of these and send them to a mixer. The idea is that I'd be running the boxes in parallel, rather than series.
If I split the signal three ways, each path will be attenuated. Can an electronics guru explain to this naive experimenter why this attenuation occurs? I understand that one can use a booster, but is there a passive solution using resistors? I recall seeing something like that once.
