Pickguard Questions

I want to throw a single ply matte black pickguard on my mim tele but I'm having trouble finding one with 8 screws. Warmoth has one but I've heard that they don't quite line up with fenders. Anyone have any experience with this? Would I somehow be able to get a 5 screw on there? Thanks.

try allparts, i guess their 5 holes will line up.

guitarpartsresource.com or guitarfetish.com might have single ply with 8 holes.

i like 1-ply pg's to have 5 holes myself...

if you order from Warmoth just keep the protective coating on until ypu're sure it all lines up. they will take it back in that condition.

I put a Warmoth 8 hole single ply white on my Nashville. I had to do a wee bit of sanding at the neck pocket (no big deal at all), but otherwise it was an excellent fit.

I do too but I'm not sure that If I buy a 5 hole guard it will fit my 8 hole mim body.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

The 8 hole guards line up with my 5 hole so the the 5 hole will work just that 3 holes not used will be covered up.

I had trouble with an AllParts 5-hole 1-ply black lining-up. Not the screw holes, but the pickup rout was off to my
50s RI. The Fender '52 Blackguard
(Fender p/n 099-2019-000) dropped right on, and lined-up
like a champ. Pretty sure GuitarPartsResource and Angela
stock these. MF website, too. You could order a custom guard from Warmoth (8-hole 1-ply) but the Fender black guard is very rigid and mounts well with 5 of the 8.

with 0000 steel wool. I did this the other day (after I saw Redd in NYC - his is matte, so I wanted the same look). I also carried this to the extreme by ordering black pickgaurd screws from GuitarPartsResource. I hope it looks as cool as I thought it would the other day.
