Thanks Keith. 11 Gauge June 13th, 2007, 07:17 AM What kinda music do you play, and what's the rest of your gear? We can prob. narrow it down, but it's going to come down to a taste thing - you could do all the research in the world and still be unhappy w/the results. But, 1st step - tell us more. And tell us what's wrong with the stock neck pickup - what is it missing? spirochete June 13th, 2007, 08:35 PM Ok,I do have the original P/UPS for the day I restore it to it's former glory ie refin etc.It did have a hot single coil to pair with the humbucker in the bridge. The cover was really loose so messed with it and broke the coils so need a new SD neck P/U to match the Hotstack. I play classic rock, blues so like the fatter, less twangy sound and play it through a Peavy classic 30 or a line 6 50W spider. Here it is,now has an original bridge installed. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd24b3127cce82c64303714000000015101Aat2Tdw2Ysc PraiseCaster June 13th, 2007, 08:57 PM I just threw a SD Lil59 in the bridge of my Tele, and I kept the 1/4 Pounder in the neck, and boy do they really match up nicely! I'm really impressed with how they complement each other. My style is rock, rock/blues, big guitar tones (think Dean Deleo of STP, Jimmy Page, Mark Tremonti of Creed), but I love dynamics (a touch of Keef) in my playing, and my guitar has got to have a nice clean overdriven sound, to a high gain overdrive tone with ton's of definition. I hope that helps. spirochete June 14th, 2007, 10:12 PM OK,Thanks-was leaning towards the quarter pounder. |
