I've got a volume pot on an American Special Edition Strat that is puzzling me.
In the 2-5 positions, the taper is what one would expect. However, on the neck position, the taper drops rapidlywhen moving from 10 to 9. Then at 7 the volume/gain is noticably weaker. When you flip the switch to any of the other positions, the gain jumps up nearly double.
I have an idea that it is the way the tones are wired to the other positions, but I'm not sure.
Are there any ideas why the neck volume taper is so different than the other switch positions? Is this normal or common?
