Is there a good book which is easy to read and learn from? chubbyjackson May 5th, 2007, 04:13 PM Try the Jimmy Bruno stuff- there are books and DVDs that are really thoughtfully laid out. I got a lot out of his No Nonsense Jazz Guitar DVD. Hope this helps... Leon Grizzard May 5th, 2007, 05:20 PM I think Mickey Baker Jazz Guitar volume one is a great introduction to mainstream, like 1958 jazz. Part one is chords; you'd be playing cool stuff from page one. Part two is single line, no tab, but if you can read at least a little you can do it. Cool vamps and riffs, and entry level chord based scale playing. Cheap like dirt, too. Robert H. Very easy to follow and very helpful in getting to know some basic chord theory. telejake May 6th, 2007, 10:55 AM I think Mickey Baker Jazz Guitar volume one is a great introduction to mainstream, like 1958 jazz.
