I've been playing for well over 30 years. Spent 1981 to 1990 gigging in various Top 40, Country, Oldies and Blues Bands. In all that time, I always played electric guitar. Even though I've owned and played acoustic since time began, I've never played one on stage or in front of more than ( except when I got married 11 years ago and played a song I wrote for my wife ) 10 people at once. Well, my singer/songwriter buddy ( who I did a recent CD project with ) asked me to play with him at a little acoustic club. It was a blast! Not a big place, but a great sounding system and a very enthusiastic, appreciative audience. My buddy played his 84 Taylor 810 with a Baggs IBeam direct to the house board and I played my late 70's early 80's Larrivee with a Fishman Rare Earth bucker direct to the board. I was going to use my Tech 21 acoustic DI, but we did not have time to do a sound check! Just plug in and play! My fingers were pretty sore as I'm not used to those medium guage strings! I'm looking forward to doing it again!

Brad,
I've been gigging for the last 6 years primarily on the acoustic, doing twice as many acoustic gigs than electric. I have to put 11's on my Taylors to keep my fingers from getting chewed up. I sometimes forget & try to bend up to a note the way I do with my Tele. My fingers are usually pretty tender at the end of the night. For 3 years I played acoustic at least 4 nights a week & even though I have tough calluses' on my fingers, they still took a beating.
