Road test report guys. I installed a tube set from Bob at EuroTubes last night and gave the Classic 30 a run around the block. Bob suggested and sent me the "Low Gain" selection. I am not going to say that this was a night and day change but a definite improvement. Bottom end full but not boomy, highs very clear and pleasing not "ice pick" in nature. The amp had a different feel. Seemed to have some natural compression. Responds very nicely to pick attack and tone/volume changes from the ole Tele.
My amp is only about six months old so I don't think the above changes were due to worn out original tubes. For me this was a very positive swap. I now enjoy the amp whereas before I used it only because it was easy to carry. If you are a Classic guy/gal I absolutely suggest you talk to Eurotubes or your favorite tube supplier. This amp can be helped from its original state.
