Million dollar idea? The 3-way "Easy" Switch

I was wiring a new build and happened to stumble across a Les Paul switch in the parts box. How simple, I thought, only 3 lugs. One for neck pickup, one for bridge pickup, and the main-out to the volume pot. You don't even need directions. Then I look at the three Tele switches I have and they very from 8-10 lugs.

Directionless, I once stared at one of these like a 3-year-old with a Rubics Cube. Didn't have the internet at the time either. Sat there for an hour, wildly testing combinations with an ohm meter.

With all the current switches available for tapping/splitting/series/etc, why not make a simple, 3-lug Tele switch for us guys that misplace directions or just hate jumping, etc. Stamp "N", "B", "P" for neck, bridge, & pot at the corresponding lug. This 3-way, 8-lug Schaller I just used had numbers stamped by each one, so I know it could be done. This step isn't even needed. Just a convenience, I guess.

It could remain the traditional blade-type switch. I just used the LP as an example of simplicity.

All the crossovers and unused lugs would just be taken care of when it arrived at your door. Leaving only the 3 needed lugs vertical for an easy assembly. Not like this-

I understand what you meant, though. I used a Les Paul Switch on this one and made up a custom control-plate. Volume and switch only, w/internal tone control.
