Humbucker ring dimensions [Archive] - Telecaster Guitar Forum

I have a tele HS body (no scratch plate model) that I am putting together.
The neck PAF humbucker that I ordered came with a ring that does not fit the pre-drilled dimensions of the tele body ring. I thought these would be a standard size - but I was obviously wrong.
The ring I have is about 4-5mm too long length wise to match the body holes.
Do I need to order a specific type of HB mounting ring for a tele? Anyone know where I should look for such a thing?

The screw-screw dimensions of pickup ring in my hand is 84 mm (3.3 in) long.
Whats the deal?
