Advice on Resonator Pickup?

I recently purchased a Johnson Style O-type metal body resonator (I know, it's not a National, but a metal body resonator with 14 frets for $200 was too good to pass up), and now I want to install a pickup. What do you recommend?

Highlander pickups are very highly rated (and expensive, too). I've got a Fishman on my tricone, but haven't tried it at stage volume. Liberty has one that he uses in his resonators, but I'm not sure if he sells it a la carte.
You might try Folk of the Wood's website for more info (Google search).

Check out McIntyre or Pick Up The World both really nice stick inside on cone types

I replaced a fishman in my Liberty Resonator (feedback machine) with a Schatten.

Super easy to install and no more feedback problems. Sounds great.

The McIntyre Feather is pretty much the standard right now. I've got one in my custom DeNeve and it is excellent. You will also need a preamp; I'm using a Fishman. If you do the installation yourself and already have the amp then the preamp and pickup will cost you as much as you have in the guitar. A cheaper alternative is a Shure SM57 or SM58 microphone aimed at the edge of the cone.
