big jimmy February 5th, 2007, 10:49 PM My son has collected a few pedals and rather than having a mess of wires i would like to get him a board. Its 1 thing i know nothing about. I am sure he will gather more as time goes on but for the moment lets say 5 to 7 size. He has a phase 90 and and a modded ts9. I want a board with its own power supply if possible and portable. And any suggestion on what others he could use in a basic setup would good also.
Doc February 5th, 2007, 11:46 PM Check out the SKB or Furman units.

sax4blues February 6th, 2007, 03:02 PM I bought this from Muscians Friend and I'm really happy. No power or routing features but very rugged and well built.

+ 1 for the Boss.
Hey MV80. Tell me about your amp. Did the custom cabinet make a difference?
 Peter
Doc February 6th, 2007, 05:31 PM Behringer has a new power one coming out that looks intersting as well.

Looks like it will be in the $100-$150 range (US).
SixStringSlinger February 6th, 2007, 06:12 PM I just made mine out of plywood. It's at an angle making everything a bit easier to reach, and it's so strong I can stand on it. I just velcro a power strip to the back.

Hi Peter,
Yes there is a huge difference. The cab is made with Sapele hardwood with a Baltic birch baffle. I put two Weber speakers in it: 12F150W and 12F150. Both speakers complemented perfectly! There is a lot of "dimension" full tone around the room, bottom and chiming high with two 12'' speaker, incredible, fantastic tone...

Nice!
I'm giving some thought to doing the same with my PTP rewired DRRI. More details here (http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/2519336).
Thanks.

Very nice job Peter. Tell me about tone. Is there a real difference with PTP rewired compare to stock? Do you recommand it?
BoB/335 February 7th, 2007, 04:42 PM Have you seen this build it yourself pedal board?

PeterUK February 7th, 2007, 05:10 PM Very nice job Peter. Tell me about tone. Is there a real difference with PTP rewired compare to stock? Do you recommand it?
It's got more choices of tone as it was wired to give a more hot rod channel on Normal Channel 2 and sounds fuller on the other channels compared to stock.
My preference is to use my Switchbone AB/Y pedal to blend a combination of Normal and Vibrato channels OR switch between one of the selected two channels.
I don't feel I've explored all the options yet and it's fun experimenting.
FYI, my other pedals are a Keeley Compressor and Keeley modded Boss Blues driver plus of course a Boss Tuner. I'm intending to add a Boss DD6 delay and that's me sorted. The two Keeley pedals are truely awesome together with a huge driven sound when kicked together. Wow!
But I'd love to determine if a different cabinet would help. The original Deluxe Reverbs were made with pine cabinets and the DRRI are birch ply so I'm wondering if I can add a further dimension to the PTP tones.
Oh, one more thing. It's got a GREEN jewel light!
Do I recommend it? Yes, but it comes at a price, although it's more servicable now. Sounds great!
