PUP Rewind

This is my first post.

About 16 years ago I replaced the then anemic stock pickups in my 73 tele with Duncans (alnico pro II in the bridge; vintage rythym at the neck). At the time, my need for a versatile playing guitar outweighed my desire to keep the guitar original. The guitar is still in great shape and otherwise original (ok, I replaced a cracked switch tip). The Duncans have been great, adding depth and warmth to a guitar that was previously one dimensional. Still, I want to take a shot at re-installing the original pickups. Any suggestions for the best shop to use to get the original pickups rewound to add some depth and complexity?

Thanks. I look forward to learning from the other Tele obsessives out there.

A few come to mind that would do an excellent job. Jason Lollar, Lindy Fralin, OC Duff, Don Mare, Mick Manlius, Wolfe McLeod.

Good luck. Sounds like a great guitar!

Hi, and welcome to the TDPRI. I would highly recommend OC Duff OC Duff Pickups (http://www.ocduffpickups.com/home.html)
He has wound several Tele sets for me and has absolutely nailed the tone I was after. He's also a great guy to deal with. 1st class all the way...

Another recommendation for O.C. Duff! I have around 4 sets of Owens' strat pup sets and they KILL! I've tried too many brands to name. I stopped looking when I found O.C. Duff. Great communication and service.
