I'm trying to gather info before I start finishing my USACG body.
My question is does the bridge pickup ground the bridge or will I need to run another wire from the bridge to the ground? I plan on putting on Texas Specials.

In theory the bridge pickup mounting screws will ground the bridge if the pickup has a metal base plate. However I think it's a good idea to run a ground wire under the bridge plate...... can't hurt.

I always line the cavity with copper foil leaving some of the foil overlaping the body so the bridge makes contact with it when screwed down. I solder a wire to the copper foil and pass it through the wiring hole and then solder it to ground in the control cavity.

Can you send them to me, Fuzzy? I won't have a problem finding a home for them!

I have a MIM Nashville Tele that came with the Tex-Mex p/us. When I bought it, it had a horrible grounding issue. There is a little tang on the p/u screw that's supposed to ground it, but it wasn't working. I soldered a wire to the back of the volume pot, ran into the bridge p/u cavity, stripped off about an inch or so and fanned out the strands and twisted some of them aorund one of the bridge screw holes in the body. Worked like a charm.
Although I have limited experience with this setup, I don't have a lot of confidence in the grounding system. I think it needs help...
My thinkin is, better safe than sorry....

Can't hurt indeed....and has solved many grounding issues, on a lot of my customer's Teles.
