heres a nice geetar I picked up recently. Dont really know much about the Japanese ones so can anyone tell me a year and anything else you know about this model.

CIJ with the A+6 digit serial number dates it to 1997-98.

It shore is sharp lookin'!

this is off topic but is it possible to bind a strat and still have it contoured.

I was thinking of doin it.

You could make one with a slab front which would be easy to bind, and a contoured back with no binding.

If you're thinking of getting a strat and binding it, the radius at the edges would make that very awkward anyway.

i wasnt thinking of buying, i wasnt going to make.

What tools are required to:

make a strat like body?

ill use alder

anything at my school woodshop?

Go and see your school woodwork teacher and put your ideas to him/her. Be prepared to be told that it's too ambitious (which it probably is given your lack of tools/experience) and/or they don't have the time to help you.

You might be better off getting hold of a cheap guitar and modifying it to gain experience.
