LesPaulGuy January 9th, 2007, 05:50 PM I've been looking at a few Telecaster items on eBay listed by the "STRATosphere," a Fender "boneyard' of sorts. They take new or used Fender guitars, take them apart, and sell the components individually or sometimes as a body package without neck.
I have emailed them numerous times asking details about certain items, but have yet to receive even a note of response. Anyone else experience the same thing?
I am a bit reluctant to deal with a business that won't respond to simple questions, and am wondering if anybody has had any dealings with them that would comment. Thanks.
Rock on January 9th, 2007, 05:53 PM they are great. I just bought a body from them.
The reason they dont respond quickly is because they have so many orders, and so little time, that only the people who are buying stuff get answered. I asked about 20 questions without buying anything. And then after i bought it and it was in transit did i ask another question(just to make sure) and they answered in like 20 mins.
Rock on
mellecaster January 9th, 2007, 06:00 PM They use an Automated e-mail system for E-bay....and a few yrs. ago I was put off by their lack of response, as you have been...but believe me, they are totally up front, and honest sellers....I have had many pleasant dealings w/ them.
jwells393 January 9th, 2007, 07:34 PM I've delt with them on hardware parts. They're up front on what they are selling. They don't use stock photos. They photograph each item they sell and what you see is what you get. Shipping has always been timely. I don't really understand what questions one might have. They describe the items they are selling. If you don't know for sure what you are looking for perhaps you should do a little research elsewhere ........... like maybe in the TDPRI.
JohnS January 9th, 2007, 07:37 PM Good folks to deal with. I've never had a problem.
LesPaulGuy January 9th, 2007, 09:05 PM This is all good to hear, thanks for the input. I have noticed that they are very up front about the information they provide; weight, country of production, etc., as well as using the photo of the exact item that looks like 20 others would. "Hats-off" to them for doing this. I'll be looking forward to doing business with them when the time comes.
LesPaulGuy January 15th, 2007, 02:28 PM To update this thread...
Nice folks after all. I sent them a question over the weekend and received a very quick and courteous reply. The other item I inquired about was one that had just closed, so perhaps this was the reason for no reply.
Lostheart January 16th, 2007, 01:42 AM Yeah...great guys to do business with. I'm in Germany and the item always arrives super-fast!
magicguitar January 16th, 2007, 02:09 AM I've dealt with them several times and had no probs. They are a bit slow on the emails, but so far have always followed thru on an order.
Stuco January 16th, 2007, 02:13 AM They blocked me from their inventory because they mislabled a guitar body and I asked to retract my bid. They have competative prices but not the best people/service.
marc sosnoff January 16th, 2007, 11:06 AM i bought from them recently no problems at all
i seem to remember hearing they are moving to a other location
maybe thats why
serge_l January 17th, 2007, 01:35 AM Dealt with 'em a couple of times without any problems.
Oh yeah, they seem to be shipping from New Hampshire now, rather than from Mass.
Telenator January 17th, 2007, 01:33 PM The reason I won't buy a guitar body from them is, they don't list the weight. While this isn't important to some, it's very important to me.
I don't like real light bodies because they can cause a guitar to be "neck heavy" and uncomfortable to play. And of course, very heavy bodies have their issues too.
They will not answer e-mails about the body weights and that's unfortunate. I would gladly buy from them if I knew what I was getting.
LesPaulGuy January 17th, 2007, 05:13 PM Every listing I have looked at for a body has shown the weight, type of wood, condition, etc. They don't list the origin of make (Mexico, USA, Japan) sometimes, but have responded to my reply when I have asked. I have found that they will respond to an inquiry for an iten still open for bid, but do not respond to general questions or on items that have closed.
Slippery Fingers January 20th, 2007, 05:44 AM I've bought serveral items from them and in my book They're A-OK.

Ivan January 21st, 2007, 01:55 PM just to chime in....
they seem to get a lot of mail so i think theyre trying their best.
Sometimes i email and i get an instant reply, while other times i dont even get a reply back.
If you buy something from them, they are great sellers where the item is as described and the delivery is quick.
If theres something you know you want, i wouldnt hesistate buying from them.
(also to people who say they dont list weight or origin.... are you sure? i seem to remember they do)
