OCD OR OD3?

looking for something transparent, doesn't change your tone or sound too buzzy or gritty, to go with my FD2 Mosfet as a boost. Narrowed it doen to these two pedals, has to be one or the other. I heard that the newer OCD's have more mids than the old ones. I like the tone of my old Princeton as is without a mid boost, any opinions?

I have both and have A/B'ed them at home and at band practice. OCD wins (for me) hands down. OD3 is still a good pedal but sounds slightly muffled in comparison. OCD also responds better to pick attack.

Cheers,

Bob

Why wouldn't you go for a clean boost pedal. I am getting a Bad Bob Boost to go with my FD2 Mosfet. From the reviews and a very short sampling myself (without my FD2) I am expecting great things.

btw the "new" OCD has more mids than the older version???

The more mods on the OCD thing is something I read here. If you do a search for OCD theres a thread about it where someone says if the serial # is over 4000 -4900 or something, it has a different pot that changes the tone. No dealers around here for me to try one

Okay Telecaster69...

If interested, I've found out the break point between OCD v1, & v2 pedals.

This was posted in late October

It seems the "v1's" have a 100KB (Linear) Volume pot, and the "v2's" change that out with a 500KB (Linear taper) Volume pot.

Thus:

ocd is by far the better pedal. on my valve junior head, if i have the volume turned all the way down and the pedal dimed, it comes thru beautifully!! pure, thick overdrive and as i dial down the guitar volume it cleans up!! and this is with the amp turned all the way down!! the ocd is a fabulous pedal, and the great part is if you dont like it, you'll get most of your money bback selling it on ebay. their resale is fantastic. but mine is not for sale!!lol
