Does anyone here know where I can find or even ever heard of a "fine tuning nut lock"? I purchased one from GC in the late 1980's and would like to track down another.
It's a Fender custom shop(that's what the package said)item that I can only describe as a chunky, ugly thing that sits on the headstock face just behind the nut. Reminds one of a miniature version of a Floyd Rose bridge complete with fine tuning screws but minus a trem arm.
Thanks in advance for any leads.

I have a mid 80's Contemporary Strat. It originally had a locking nut. The fine tuners were on the bridge.
I played it that way for about two weeks at which point I removed the locking nut and the fine tuners. They seemed to choke the natural sound of the guitar. Fine tuners are ok but the locking nut doesn.t work for me.

This guitar is on ebay now. (not mine by the way) Just buy the whole guitar to get the nut.

That's a locking nut for a floyd Rose Bridge. There are two types, The one that you see above which allows you to use a standard bone or corian nut. The other is a nut that replaces your standard nut but you need a string tree above all the strings to get a proper break angle over the nut to the tuners. Whereas the the one pictured also serves as string tree. The one that you see above is very tricky. If you tighten the locking screws to tight, the string will break. I prefer the other if you want a Locking bridge.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this thread...I'm familiar with both the one's being described but, the one I'm refering to more or less looks like the one pictured except it has actual fine tuning screws on it.
