Picked up a 50's Classic two tone sunburst in great shape last night. Paid about half of what the going rate is for a used one.
Problem is that I have a 1989 US57RI two tone that's my go to guitar and I don't need a guitar that looks the same.
I've been gassin' for a 62 style lately, so I might sell the body and neck on this one and use the hardware and pickups for a partscaster 62 style.
Anyway I'm jazzed about the great deal-they're out there if your looking:shock:

very cool. Why not ebay the whole guitar, and then buy a 60's reissue.

Great score. Wish I could use Craiglist in my area, but it's virtually dead around here as far as musical instruments are concerned. Every once in a while, someone might post something for sale on it. We can go 2-3 weeks without anything new added to the list. Obviously, no one uses it here.

Well...that's true, but I think I may be able to get more if I part it out. I've kinda gotten the bug to build my own and this way I would have all the hardware and pickups ready to go. A drawback to this plan would be that winter is coming soon(snowed today) and I would not be able to start finishing the body and neck probably until next spring(don't want to spray in the house).
I have thought about a trade for a 62 style, but I would likely end up with a poly finished guit and I'm more of a nitro finish guy.
Anyway lots of options to think about.
