Is there a pedal to sound like a dobro?

Does one exist? I've been fooling around with my Boss BF-2 Flanger lately focusing mostly on the Res and Manual knobs. I find with the Res. at about half way I get this light metallic sound, almost like a very soft metallic reverb sound very reminiscent of a dobro.

I was curious if there is a pedal out there to emulate this sound, I know they have acoustic simulators, seems like someone would have made a dobro version, if not I bet it'd sell pretty well.

Maybe I can build up my own small circuit that just contains the Res function (maybe the manual sweep too) of the flanger, house it in something like MXR style case. I can't imagine it being that difficult but I'll have to see what exactly is going on in the BF-2 to give that metal sound.

Edit - "The Res (for resonance) knob sets the amount of the positive feedback from the output to the input" Hmm sounds interesting, the diagram is more confusing then I thought hahah.

Well, there is Bobbe Seymour's "BoBro" - http://www.steelguitar.net/ (look under 'Accessories'), but it is intended for steel guitars, don't know how well it would work with a tele...

Wow that was fast, thanks. It's a little out of my price range right now but looks like a cool pedal, I liked the little video they had on there. It was a little less metallic sounding and almost warmer for my taste but it's certainly something I'll keep in mind for the future. Kind of wish it has at least one knob to adjust hahah, looks like they use a Boss Tuner to house it in. I'd guess it would work just find for normal guitar, not sure how it'd respond to overdrive or fuzz though.

So anyone else out there have any ideas?

I think some of the multi-effect pedals made for acoustic guitars (i.e. Zoom, DOD) have a Dobro setting. I have not played any of them.

you could use a whammy pedal for the slide sort of sound. I know that doesn't help with the metallic resonance you are looking for, but it might a little.

I always felt the boss ac2 on the piezo setting sounded real "dobroish". I use it on gigs with my band for the slide riffs on "Sister Golden Hair" and I like the timbre in combination with a glass slide. If you can try one out I think it might be what you're looking for.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm really surprised there aren't more pedals like this out there, guess dobro's really aren’t as popular as say a normal acoustic.

I have heard that a few multi effect boards do dobro sounds but I was hoping to stay away from anything that complicated hahah.

I'll look into the AC2 next time I'm at guitar center.

I suppose the flanger I'm using works just fine but eh, I was hoping there was something a little more suited then it. Like I said I'd like to just get that Res function and maybe a tone knob in one pedal. Maybe it's something I can work on in the future once I get better at reading circuits. I'm sure it's not that complicated to wire up. House it in a plain box and use it as my secret weapon

I have a Phaser too but the Res on that sounds so different then the one on the flanger. The BF2 really adds this sharp metal edge to all your notes, it has this weird mock reverb to it too, or maybe more of an echo sound. It just really adds a new dimension to the sound. I play with it on all the time, maybe when I wire up my version of it I'll just leave it as a stand alone unit tucked in the back of the amp.

Oh, I do actually own a whammy pedal but it's not really the slide sound I'm looking for, more just the hollow metal, almost boxy sound of the dobro.
