Can someone give me a quick switching rundown?

I know you can probably customize the 5 way switching, but what are the standard setups? I'm not familiar with Strats, so I'm ignunt. I don't know how to refer to the positions, so I'm going to call position 5 closed to the neck, and 1, closest to the bridge.

Does it go like this?

1= Bridge
2= Bridge/Middle
3= All three
4= Middle/Neck
5= Neck

Is that the way it goes? It seems like there are some options that you would miss in this setup, like bridge/neck, neck only, etc... Can you get into 7way?

Thanks for the info...

Well, stock it goes:

1: Bridge
2: Bridge/Middle
3: Middle
4: Middle/Neck
5: Neck

You've got to remember that strats originally had only a three-position switch -- one for each pup -- and people found that they could balance between positions 1/2 and 2/3 to get two pickups (due to the large wiper on the switch). After people did this for 20 years, Fender finally started using a five-way switch that had an extra detent for the in-between settings. Of course, these switches had been available on the aftermarket for years by that time.....

With some of the superswitches and megaswitches (some of these have four poles and five switchable lugs per pole!) you can get about any combination that you want....

Most people who want bridge/neck or all three will simply add a blender pot.

Hope this helps!
