Is there an easy way to convert the output jack on my Tele Thinline to make it flush with the jackplate cup? I love using the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, and it just doesn't work on my 70's Thinline. It won't insert fully, because the jack is not flush with the body. Interestingly enough, it DOES work on my reissue MIJ Thinline; the MIJ jack has more threads on the 1/4" barrel. Is that all I need to do to get it to work on the other one; replace the jack with a longer one? Is that the quick fix here?
Thanks for looking in....looking forward to your replies.

Some of the Fender Squire models have the jack flush with the body, I seen them with two and four screws. You can try to order the part from Fender or also check out the jacks used on a Les Paul or Epiphone. They will also work.

See if there's a nut and/or washer between the jack cup and the output jack. Maybe removing those will give you enough to work wirth.

I have Metal Les Paul style output jack plates on all my Tele's. AllParts has different styles including a rectangular one whch fit between the binding of my 90's Thinline.

How about an electrosocket?

Unfortunately, the electrosocket is a little too deep for right angle plugs and probably the Armstrong stuff too.
Hey iraseigel, thanks for the heads up on the gig at the game. I go every chance I get and I get a few. Camden is walking distance from the house.

Going by my limited experience, the MIJ Tele jack cup is quite a bit shallower than the MIA/MIM equivalent -- so it's probably not just that the jack itself protrudes more, it might be the shallower cup or a combination of the two that's alowing the Orange Squeezer to seat properly. When my "Reverse Fat Tele" partscaster was coming together, its MIM California Fat Tele body (which I bought from a fellow TDPRIer) had the jack cup sticking out way too far, but fortunately I had an MIJ cup (from another TDPRIer) in my stash and was able to remedy that without repositioning the internal mounting gizmo -- that's how I discovered that the MIJ cup is shallower.
