Quick review of my new BL Keystone strat pickups

Hello gang,

I finally got my Squier "Black & Chrome" Strat back together. I shielded the pickups & control cavities and re-wired it with the rewire kit offered by Guitar Fetish. While I was at it, I removed the old stock Squier pickups and replaced them with a set of Bill Lawrence Keystone pickups. The difference is like night and day! This guitar used to be pretty loud, it hummed quite a bit. Now it's as quiet as my Les Paul. The old Squier pickups sounded thin and "tinny". These Keystones sound infinitely better!

For whatever reason, I really like the feel of this guitar, it's a pleasure to play. Now, with the shielding/grounding mods and these new pickups, I think its a total winner. If I hadn't seen them with my own eyes, I would swear these pickups were stacked humbuckers. They are the quietest single coils I've ever used.

For less than $150 (for the pickups, rewire kit, and a few other odds & ends), I couldn't be happier!

My digital camera is not cooperatiing tonight, I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow.

Later,

Just got the Kestones into my strat. Wow! Definately hotter than my stock 60's Classic pickups. Lots of hair as they are positioned now. I'll probably back them off a bit from the strings as it's somewhat of a challenge to get a clean tone at this point. I'm real happy with the tone and these bad boys are a great buy

Thanks Bruce!
