texas special tele neck pup question

I am contemplating a pup upgrade for a 1998 Am. St. Tele. I am considering a texas special in the neck but I am concnerned that it will be too powerful, that it will cause my amp to break up too early. I currently have a stock pup there that measures 7K and I like it in terms of power/output. I realize that resistence does not determine output and that it is but one factor in the overall sound quality of a pup (I do not need this explained to me). I am providing the information on the pup I already have because I thought it might help whoever is willing to read this andby providing at least one piece of information. Is the texas special likely to break my amp up noticably earlier than the one I have? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

No, just expect fuller tone than you often find on a Tele neck pickup.

Actually the neck pickup on the TS's are pretty nice sounding. I just pulled the set out of my Telecaster to try the Keystones.I was looking for a more traditional sound in the bridge and something a little stratty in the neck and I got that with the Keystones. The TS neck pickups is both hot and throaty but ,to my ear, not any louder.

thanks for your opinions on the TS neck pup. I'll continue to beat myself up over the decision of which neck pup to try!

I've got a TS neckp'up in a tele and it's a pretty normal pickup, output-wise--there's really not all that much 'special' about it, imo..
