I am looking at a mid'80's MIJ with a locking trem. I know there will be some holes in the headstock after removing the clamp, what will I encounter trying to go back to a standard Strat trem?

Locking Trem - Problems going back to standard?Nvr2Many August 13th, 2006, 10:01 PM I am looking at a mid'80's MIJ with a locking trem. Ice9 August 14th, 2006, 02:30 AM If its a Floyd Rose type locking trem you'll also have two holes in the body where the two fulcrum screws go.And how much wod was cut out where the locking nut goes might mean youd need a shim or two to bring a stock nut back up to the right height. I have a couple of players here that I converted back, and just left the locking nut on without the clamps.A lot easier that way. All said and done tho, shouldnt be a big deal. Mike |
