My apologies if this has been addressed before. I want to wire a GFS humbucking pickup into the bridge position of my telecaster. The pickup has a red and white wire that came bound together. It also has a green wire, a black wire, and short stiff silver shield. Can l leave my wiring set the way it was to my tele rear pickup and just attach the the new pickup to the black & white wires in the rear cavity? and where do l attach the silver stiff wire (l assume this is a ground) . Obviously l am new at this, so lf anyone would be kind enough to explain the wiring procedure l would be most grateful.
Kindest Regards, Multicat

-The red and white leads are for coil splitting I believe. Just twist them thogether and tape the off if you're not going to use the split. The green lead goes to hot, and the black and braided leads are grounds.

Matt is 100% correct. If you're just looking for a drop-in replacement (no fancy coil splitting, etc...), don't separate the red & white wires. Tape them off.

Good luck!
