Hi All. Just received my Regal RC-2. Can you say FUN:grin: and COOL:cool: I really enjoy doing (well, trying to do) that whole Mississippi Delta Blues finger pickin' slide slidin' thang. Nice break from the telecaster and Martin.
Anyway, I was wondering what guage and manufacturer of strings you would recommend for it.
And now, back to some dirt-basic blues...

I play more of a bluegrass/country type reso (Jerry Douglas/Rob Ickes style). But I like medium gauge John Pearse strings. Make sure you get the set with the wound G string...the set with the G string unwound is awful.

On my steel bodied National I use either standard phosphor bronze D'Addario acoustic mediums, or the D'Addario "Flatops" which are phospor bronze strings with a flattened winding that reduces finger and slide noise. (NOT the same as flat wound jazz guitar strings at all). If you plan on using any kind of piezo or contact pickup, the flatops are a bit more significant since the string and finger noise can get kind of nasty when amplified.
