Trouble Viewing Pictures

Am I the only one where pictures are not showing up in posts? This computer's has been funny with pictures, but it used to at least show a link for the picture now it's nothing don't even know there's supposed to be a picture (besides following the clues of the poster/s). I can view the pictures if I go to the Page Source and copy/paste the image url, if this helps.

Yes, you are the only one that has complained of this issue. Do you have your browser set to not show images? Do you see NO images at all. Do you see your avatar.

I see some pictures (avatars and some posts). I'll give examples if it helps: http://www.tdpri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52594 I can see a link to the picture on Hafner's first post and then on jwell's post I can see the image just fine. http://www.tdpri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52575 I see nothing on this one (not even an image error). Anyway it's probably more my computer's fault.

In that first link you provided you see only a link and not a photo in the first post because he posted a link and not a photo.

Jwells, posted a photo. And you can see it.

On the second link it's just a photo of a PRS guitar with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on it. So, seems like your browser is doing you a favor. Ok, I'm joking.

My guess is that you can't see that photo because there are 3 photos and they total 220,000 bytes and it takes a long time to download and you don't wait around long enough for it to load. If you switched to Firefox for your browser you wouldn't have to wait for all three photos to download before seeing the first one.

Are you on dialup?

Oh, didn't know that was supposed to be a link. I'm not sure I'll have to keep leafing through the forum to see if it's still doing it, but with the old forum this computer would always show all pictures (not avatars) as links.

Haha, actually I can see the ninja turtle guitar when I go to page source and get the picture url.

I tried Mozilla and Firefox, which this computer luckily had, and same problem.

Cable connection

Another example: http://www.tdpri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41699&highlight=cowcaster post number 19 InSlide posts a picture that I don't see anything.

Anyway, this is probably just a weird problem that this computer is having and I wouldn't wan't you to spend too much time trying to debug it for me (thanks for all the help so far) you've probably got enough on your plate with the forum updating. I'm just kind of worried a nice tele picture will pass me up, because I didn't know it was supposed to be there!

Humm, I thought maybe it was a gifs/jpeg thing. But clearly if you see both then you see both file formats.

You've got a weird thing going on there with that computer. If it was me, I'd have to find out why or I wouldn't be able to sleep.

I can only see the 1st one. I have posted a new thread on some of the problems I am having with setting up Firefox.

Sorry, I was cleaning up my images folder and deleted that photo. I put another one there now.

Paul, hate to bring this one up again, but I just noticed this problem too. It happens with both IE and Firefox, WinXP.

For example, I don't see the image in the first post in the thread below, UNLESS I quote it in my reply. It shows up in the reply editing box. Same thing happened in my post to the "Show us your bad dogs" thread.

I see lots of other images, though, including avatars and the test post you put in this thread. I also saw all the other doggie pictures in the bad dog thread.

Don't know what to tell you about your system. It shows up fine in my system and as you can see from the others that responded to his post others were seeing it as well.

It is a pretty large photo 145K. It could be slow to dowload???? Just guessing- what your problem may be I have no idea.

Aha! It was the new firewall software I installed. The free program from my ISP is showing itself to be lousy in many, many ways, and here's another.
