My 57 RI has a buzzing through the amp but when you touch the strings the buzzing goes away. I'm thinking this is a grounding issue. I have re-grounded the bridge but it did not help. Anyone got any suggestions???

Buzzing StratTom A. April 17th, 2006, 07:42 AM My 57 RI has a buzzing through the amp but when you touch the strings the buzzing goes away. I'm thinking this is a grounding issue. I have re-grounded the bridge but it did not help. Anyone got any suggestions??? Loco April 17th, 2006, 09:25 AM It's quite normal, just maintain light contact with strings or bridge. I've got three Strats and two other Fenders - all of 'em buzz a little. chickenpicker April 17th, 2006, 10:08 AM The guitar may benefit from better shielding. I had a similar problem, and that was the solution. red57strat April 17th, 2006, 01:25 PM Sounds normal. I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes a problem. blue metalflake April 17th, 2006, 05:33 PM Its certainly a grounding issue, but like the others say its normal. I wouldn't worry about it. Stratoclutter April 19th, 2006, 02:09 PM Unfortunately, Buzzing is a Strat's downfall ! But heck We lovem cuz they twang like a nut !!! Joe K April 21st, 2006, 08:35 PM Rats. I was hoping for some tips with a persistent fret buzz I'm getting on the first four frets of the E and A strings. Truss rod and mild adjustement of action are not making it go away. I'm told to get rid of my .009 Super Slinkys. What do you think? BTW, I will give another vote that the amp buzz described earlier is normal. J-man April 21st, 2006, 10:24 PM Well I'm certainly no expert, but I really don't see how changing to different strings will improve anything at all. |
