any owners out there?

can't seem to find one in the local shops, but i'm way intrigued. being a tele player i don't really find the tremelo necessary, but i'm GASing for that distinctive strat quack.

looks like a great value at $500

They have lots of quack. Excellent pickups. MIne stayed in perfect tune the whole time I owned it.

i've got one. it is an excellent guitar. don't buy one thru mail order if you can help it though, try to find one in a shop that you can try out. a friend of mine got one and then had to have some work done on the nut.

i can't think of anything at all bad about mine, it's fun to play, stays in tune good, takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' just like a stratocaster should. i think there might be a little more presence and snarl to it, due to the hardtail. hard to say for sure.

oh, one caveat: the violet color is PUGLY.

Eat My Shorts (EMS) in Kansas. I've had no problems with it. They had a great price also.

It had all the features (particularly a hard tail) that I was looking for.

Good Luck!

I'm really getting G.A.S. for the one in violet. I noticed that the Mexican RC and the Custom Shop RC are completely different. The Mex has a 9.5 radius and large frets, the Custom has a 12 radius and vintage frets. What's up with that? What does RC actually play? I prefer the Mex for everything, including looks!! 8)

I really had gas for that model . I loved the silver. I ended up getting it in the sunburst model. I think it is a great strat. The thing stays in tune like I can't believe. I really like the neck too. I do think I will ebay it soon to pay for a nice tele. I would rather trade it in but no good guitar stores are in my area. I have 3 strats right now. I kinda do and kinda don't miss the tremolo I can't decied.

Well, the CS is over $2K. I've got the violet MIM and am very very happy. I wouldn't want vintage frets. The pups are fantatsic - the quack is unreal. I didn't care for the spikey vintage saddles so I replaced them for palm comfort - but they sounded great. The stock Ping tuners are OK. The finish and setup were good but I always tweak my own axes. I did switch the second tone control from the middle to the bridge pup to control the highs. This gave me the added bonus of a middle pup that sounds beefy like a tele. Great axes.
