hey im new 2 this forum so bare with me....
i have been playing a squier strat for four years now and have been looking 4 a new axe,
i love the tone u can acheive from a strat middle and neck pup together for songs like little wing so i want to own another strat in place of mi squier but i need the humbucker 4 some kick in the bridge position. so yeah that brought me 2 the 'fender deluxe series fat strat' please help me if u know anything about the guitar.

Is the deluxe series fat strat still being produced?
Is the bridge humbucker already coil-tapped?

thanks for any help :D

Theres a Deluxe series Fat-Strat?

Seriously, I think you would be better off just getting a Standard and modding it to your own specs'

The Deluxe Series Fat Strat is no longer listed among current products, but they DO still list an HSS-configured Strat:

Fender HSS Strat (http://fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0117002750)

And yes, as well as having the S-1 switching options, it appears to do the auto-coil-shunt in throw #4.

I have a '97 Lonestar Strat which is the fat strat configuration with a SD Pearly Gates in the bridge. I love this guitar and have made a few mods that make it even more versatile. I installed a push-pull in the bottom tone control to give me the bridge pickup in single coil. I also replaced the Texas Special SC's with SD Vintage Rails. Now I have a Strat that plays just like a normal strat when the push-pull is up and plays like a humbucker rock machine when the push-pull is down. Great guitar.
