Fender 52 Tele Vintage Pickups

Hi,
This may be a dumb question and I apologize but I was wondering how true are the modern Vintage 52 Tele pickups to the actual Tele pickups made in 52? I'm puting together my first Tele and when it comes to authenticity I like to inform myself as much as possible on every aspect. I'm trying to get the classic "Bruce Springsteen" tone out of my Tele. The one you can hear on such records as "Candy's Room" and "Badlands". There's also a wailing solo he does on Warren Zevons "Disorder In The House" thats sounds awesome! Bruce has a 52 Esquire modified with an extra Tele pickup so I figure if I get myself some vintage 52's from Fender I'll be set. Right? Any information is extremely apprciated. Thanks so much

Bruce uses pickups wound by a guy in New Jersey (probably the one you hear on that WZ track - which wailed, by the way!).

The old Badlands days may be on an original stock pickup, though.

From everything I've been able to read and learn, it's my understanding that the '52 pickups now are pretty close to the old ones... They're real close sounding to the Nocasters (which I got a set of)...

If that's any indication, they are AWESOME. They got more beef and mids than the usual Tele fare... great for that rockin Springsteen type of sound. I'll never go back after my Nocasters!

The pickups are great... but not what he uses. He plays Petillos and Bardens.

a couple hours later and I'm finally done reading and re-reading most of it. It looks like I've stumbled upon a wealth of Springsteen guitar knowledge. I think I'm going to cry.
