I love this place. I was setting up my first partscaster when I couldnt get enough break angle over the saddles on the top loader bridge when I remebered a photo that 0le Fuzzy had posted with nickels under the saddles. Works like a charm!

I like it. And you used the right nickels; Jefferson wouldn't look right back there at all. How'd you hold them in there - or is string pressure holding them down?

Just string pressure holding them. I was worried that they might buzz alittle but no problems.

Have you seen the price of those vintage nickels they are up to like 5 cents a piece. I'll stick to newer nickels that be found for free in any number of fountains around the city. I have heard of people finding some sweet vintage nickels in old couches at the salvation army but its so hard to find a matching set.

be sure you use genuine nickel nickels and not some cheap 5-cent imitation

I'll only use quarters. Nothing sounds, and sustains better than quarters. Period.
