Something New

Got a new song up for anybody who's interested, called "Apathy". Lots of tele, of course, and I'm proud of the end solo. I really enjoy playing with my new Tube Screamer. I kind of consider the song a throwaway, but it has merit.

I have many far better songs than this on the way, but I need both acoustic/live drums and acoustic/real piano, and I own neither a drum set or a piano. I really can't stand fake piano or drums anymore. I've ranted about this on my website but man, is it frustrating to write a song that sounds sooooo good on a real piano, only to go home to play it on my cheap unweighted keyboard. There's nothing I like more than the sound of a good acoustic grand.

Great lyrics.

I'd like to hear this song with just one acoustic guitar and maybe a bit of mandolin or fiddle as accompaniment - to allow the lyrics to be more prominent.

Keep posting.

Savagery,

I said it last time you posted songs and I'll say it again. I REALLY dig your stuff. Especially your tracks that feature guitar. Great stuff! Please keep em coming!

Hey it's you again! I'm always impressed with your work. I have a house full of kids that are preventing me from listening intently enough to catch all of the lyrics this time, but I'm really glad that you're still doing it, and still sharing it with us. Thanks much! You have a wonderful talent, and I wish you success with it!

BTW - the kids loved "Take a Ride" too.

Thanks again to you! Kids can be loud, I know... if you're worried about them hearing the lyrics to any of my songs don't worry, they're all PG.

And thank you all again for your kind words. Maybe this wasn't really a post-worthy song, though... I have a few more I plan on uploading real soon that I think you all will really enjoy. I'll keep you guys updated.

That's what I hate about recording songs, it locks them into one "sound" and that's all there is. Playing old Beatles tunes (first few albums) slower on acoustic guitar is a good example- Help, She Loves You, etc. are all, to my ears, better played slower and with different instrumentation.

Isn't that the truth eh? It's amazing how Beatle tunes turn out when you slow them down, or play them Bluegrass style - or Reggae. "Ticket to Ride" sounds fantastic done Bluegrass style.
