Strat Plus finish question

I have a mint 1988 Strat Plus. A while ago, I noticed that there was a line running lengthwise on the body that looked to be under the top layer of the finish. I shrugged it off figuring that the body was made from several pieces of wood glued together and this was just one of those seams telegraphing through the finish. This week I noticed more of these lines, about 12 or 13 of them.

I'm sure the body wasn't made from a bunch of wooden paint stirrers glued together so I am a bit skeptical of my initial conclusion. You generally cannot feel them when you run your hand across the surface.

They mostly all run lengthwise but a couple of smaller ones, a couple of jagged ones (like a "Z") do appear.

Any ideas as to what's going on where this will all lead? It's been kept in a room under the bed or in a closet, never in an unheated space, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

I had an '88 Strat plus that I bought new. It didn't have that problem but some of the American Standard Strats hanging on the wall at the shop where I bought mine did and they were brand new guitars.

It might be made out of several pieces of wood.
In the '90s Fender's sunburst Am. Std. guitars were mard of several pieces of wood and had a laminated top and back to cover it up. On solid painted guitars that wouldn't bother with tha laminated tops and backs.

I've not been able to get a decent picture that shows it but I did find this thread that's relevant.

Lostheart's post describes what I am looking at so I know I'm not the only one and can relax about it and go back to enjoying it.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
