What a great pedal! I didn't realize how much better this compressor is than my Boss CS3. Had I paid closer attention to the other guitarists on the internet, I wouldn't have sunk as much money on guitar pedals just to get what I "needed".

I'm not real nutty about the current reissue DynaComp, but my old '70s script logo's an essential part of the small board I use exclusively with my 52RI/Vibroverb combo. Chick'n`Pick'n Heaven!!
I'm with you on the CS-3 - definitely a giant step backwards from its predecessor, the mighty CS-2 - still highly regarded by Nashville's finest as the ultimate faux-pedal steel machine. The ridiculous amount of sustain being the biggest part of the equation.. perfect for those big, wide bends.
I've got both of 'em on my little board.

I used a CS-3 for years before I got a MXR. It was a noticable difference the minute I plugged it in. I never could dial in the CS-3.
Neither of mine are new MXR's. One is a mid 70's, the other is a late 70's. I paid 60 bucks for one, and the other I got trading a pickup. And right about the same time too.
I just like the simplicity of the two knob thing. It also seems to yeild stronger compression. To get that much compression on a CS-3, you get an equal amount of noise.
