Analogman helped design EHX East River Drive -- anyone compare that to his TS9 mod?

Title says it all.

Anyone try the new EHX East River Drive next to an Analog Man modded Tube Screamer?

Thanks for any replies.

I din't know that... and no I haven't compared it. Its hard to lose sleep over TS circuits, because there are so many of them. Mike's are as good as many and better than most, but at the end of the day, its still a Tubescreamer.

No loss of sleep. Just curious...

Can you confirm this through a reliable source, so it's not
easily dismissed as internet rumor? A link of some kind?

Page down and read the copy right above the video.

Yes this...

But I will surely hit that for less than $60! Though, I wonder why they had to still go to AnalogMan? EHX doesn't have the proper R&D to make a simple TubesScreamer :?:

I'd be interested in a comparison to a known high quality current production 808 clone. Like the way huge for instance. I haven't played the soul food but in internet clips it seems more plasticky sounding than the klone I have which to me sounds just like a silver. The price on this makes it a no brainer if you're on a budget but I'm wondering if the quality is there.

How much quality do you want for 60 bucks? Or more appropriately, what are your expectations for 60 bucks? It will probably be a good enough pedal as long as you are cool with SMT and other cost cutters. But its so cheap that you can replace it rather than fix it if push comes to shove. Still, its just a TS and there are hundred of options out there at every price point and hundreds of thousands of used ones out there if you are feeling cheeky.

Parts type/quality aside, the AM silver ts9 is an 808 with a larger input cap(roughly double) and higher voltage silicon diodes like the 808 originally had.

Don't care if something is SMT at this price. I'm wondering about sound quality. Lots of cheap pedals are copies of this or that and they don't always sound that great compared to their higher priced relatives. As long as the switch, jacks, and knobs are good and the sound is there, instant win.
