GFS Lil Puncher Modern Vintage Neck Pickup

A question for those who have installed the GFS Lil Puncher Modern Vintage Neck Pickup. How did it fit in the pickguard?

I tried to install one and the fit is so tight the thread catches on the pickguard and with no amount of force will the pickguard fit over the pickup. I emailed GFS and they said it was a little tight but this is beyand a little.

It is advertised on there website that you can use this pu with no mods even to the pickguard. My pickup is a few months old, so I wonder if the size has varied. I have tried it with 2 diifferent standard tele pickguards.

Just like to know what others experiences have been.

i had the same problem....

but i kinda forgot about it because i ended up sending them back because they didn't have the tone i was looking for.

if i had kept them, i would've just carved out the guard a bit with a dremel.

Mine rubbed a bit, I had to file the opening on the pickguard slightly larger. I used a flat hand file, and took about 1/2 mm off each side. Hopefully this helps.
