I've got a guy who will sell me a 1957 Jensen P12SH for my Tweed Deluxe Kit from Mission that I am building.
i know the P12R was the stock speaker, from what I read the P12S is a 13 watt version of the 14 watt P12R, it has the bell magnet cover,etc- The P12S has a 4.6 oz. magnet as opposed to the 6.8 oz. on the P12R...
I'm wondering what you guys think about his speaker in this setting, or if you have ever seen one or heard of one?
I would of course like to get an old P12R, but they are very pricey! This one is $75....Any thoughts?

They are a very light duty speaker. I don't even think they are 12 watts. Maybe adequate for a Champ type circuit, but not enough for a Deluxe.

Well, actually, the specs are as follows from a 1958 Jensen catalog:
P12R- 14 watts, 6.8 oz magnet
P12S- 13 watts, 4.6 oz magnet

Pretty close wattage wise, I was thinking it may be cool underpowered for a nasty old Tweed tone, what do you think? The 12 watt 58-63 Ampeg Jet used this speaker.
The Deluxe 5E3 being 15 watts, I'm curious how this will work.
The 5E3 stock speaker was also overpowered at a 14 watt rating!

Heres the 1958 Jensen catalog:

The P12R is an excellent speaker match for the Deluxe. Cranking a Deluxe through an old unreconed Jensen is asking for, well, a recone. The P12R breaks up and compresses at loud Deluxe volume, and still thumps some bass. The P12R is a bright speaker, and I'm unfamilar/uninformed about the S model, but I guess the lighter S would be brighter than the R and shrill and farty at loud volume.

I'm stickin' with my reconed P12R's.
