RockinCarl February 5th, 2006, 09:29 PM Are the Recent MIM Standard Strat pickups ceramic?
Are the MIM Standard Tele pickups alnico? I played two MIM's today, one a strat and a tele and the pole piece material looked different on both.
Just wondering.

RockinCarl February 6th, 2006, 05:53 PM Thanks Yegbert- after Mark posted that from the Fender site I realized I could've looked on Fender's site and get the answer... DOH! Anywho- Thanks for helping me out, Mark and Yegbert.

i bought a new 06 electron blue MIM tele and the pickups are ceramic. They have long bar magnets on the bottom of the pickups on each side of the pole pieces. I use these pickups as paper wieghts now as I put texas specials in them. I could send you by email pics of these pups but I can't post them on this site.
RockinCarl May 30th, 2006, 02:24 AM Could you get a reading on the new '06 Mexican pickups? Thanks! I just now saw this thread come back from the dead...
I wonder why they switched back to ceramic?
yegbert May 30th, 2006, 12:21 PM Here are some pics, thanks to lwaun. Yep, those look to me like they could be ceramic bar magnets and steel poles.

RockinCarl May 30th, 2006, 12:59 PM Oh yeah, they're Ceramic. I just wonder what the reading is on them. If its a high 4k, or a low 5k, they could sound very nice....
