Altboy with Tele December 8th, 2005, 02:18 AM My tele bridge pu is a SD 1/4 lb and my neck is stock, and mostly i want to have a major difference between neck and bridge volume, ie set the neck turned down, then open up on the bridge pickup when i switch.
I got this little fixin to drill another hole in my control plate for another volume pot! Past that, i don't know what to do with hooking it up. put each volume to ground and then to the switch, and then to the tone pot?
I do want to leave the tone control in there if possible, i use it but not too often.
Maybe i'm not satisfied with the cleaning up on the neck because I play almost always through solid state. money only stinks when you don't have any.
Fuzzyhead December 8th, 2005, 04:47 AM I think that looks neat...

Martinp December 8th, 2005, 09:09 AM I put a T-top in my alder tele, and I'm considering going with concentric pots, with a volume/ tone for each pickup, sorta like stealth Les Paul controls.
I need to find some that aren't $25 a piece though
in the interim the 500Ks work OK

Altboy with Tele December 8th, 2005, 10:18 AM I like the last one, no switch at all, like a j-bass. If i can find a blank control plate to drill up, i would do that, no switch. And the VA tele is what gave me the idea, there's to much room on that thing for two knobs. he heh.

BB December 8th, 2005, 01:04 PM I've done it a few times and must say, it works well and give one a very versitile guitar. As far as a diagram, I'll be glad to send you one or you can use a diagram from the Fender Jazz bass as it utilizes individual volumes and a master tone.
Either Fenders Mr. Gearhead, Stew Mac or Guitar Electronics should have one you can download.
Good luck!

sean79 December 10th, 2005, 12:00 AM If you had pots to turn front and back pickups all the way up or all the way down, would you need a seperate toggle switch to select pickups? Would it be just as good to turn your front one "off" via the volume knob - or would you lose some kind of electrical something or signal something somehow? The hot girl with the funny pants doesn't seem to have a toggle switch.

Do you have problems moving knobs other than the one you want to?
Those look a bit close together for me...

Paul G. December 11th, 2005, 10:27 AM I thought the idea was to be able to switch pickups without a large change in volume.
Just asking.

Yes I have trouble with that. I don't like it very much, but I was trying to make it more authentic to Brent's.
