Abigail Ybarra, NOT retired as far as I know....

Abigail Ybarra is not retired, unless she did so in the last couple of years. I went on a Custom Shop tour (thanks to Jeff Fullerton, George's son) about 3 years ago and met Abby, who is a sweet, friendly lady! She was winding pick-ups, as she has done since 1956!. I have seen a couple of guys on Ebay, selling pups signed by Abby, saying that Fender brought her out of retirement to make them, but I believe she still works there, almost 50 years now!!! jvc

I think Abby has been there since 1959 instead of 56 but no big deal she is one of the original Fender employees.

She hasnt retired and is probably winding pickups as we write these messages.
