62 RI Mint Green Guard or not?

When did they quit putting the mint green guard on these?

Lately the ones I have seen have the regular white guard as in pre98 models.

and it had a white guard...i replaced it with a "mint green" guard.

I thought all the MIA 62 RI's had white guards...

the MIM 60's have the green guards!

I had a builder ordering completed pickgaurds with Green Gaurd & Cream Knobs and pup covers...
It was messing with my mind....WHY wasen't this guy gettimg mint green knobs and mint green pup covers to match... what was up..

Well finnalyI meet him onthephone and IU asked what was he doing?
"the pickgaurd aged to a mint green on the real vintage strats but the knobs and covers yellowed to a cream" he said!!!
He was right, And man ol' man---does it look GREAT!!!!!
