Graphtech IOS Saddles

I was digging a groove into my brass Callaham saddles with my B string and was starting to get the 'sitar effect on the B. I knew I'd have to switch them out.

I have been reading a lot about the Graphtech IOS compensated saddles and decided to give them a try. So far so good- the notching on the saddles gives a better break point for the strings and the guitar seems to ring quite a bit 'clearer', with a very similar sound the brass saddles, maybe a shade brighter. I used to hear the B grinding on the saddle at times and now it seems to slip right across with no friction.

It's a bit early to see if I'll dig a groove, but so far so good...

My parts Tele in waiting will have the IOS saddles....although I don't use a bender.

I like the non-angled saddles idea for compensation.

I run the E, A, G, and D with IOS.

I run the B, and E with the ole cheapy stainless steel.

If you want to leave the B, E with steel or brass, try just running some pencil lead where the string meets the saddle and where the string meets the metal on the bender.

I wouldn't have thought the IOS could handle the friction of the string on the B? How is that holding up?

Did you go with the Tusq or String Savers?

I'm still diggin' my Tusq IOS saddles.
